Compute 2008 and Headstart 2008 sponsored by ACM Bangalore is a set of co-located International conferences aimed at promoting and showcasing new research and applied technology implementations.

 
ACM - The Association for Computing Machinery

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Founded in 1947, is the world's oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society dedicated to advancing the arts, sciences, and applications of information technology. Since 1947 ACM has provided a vital forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and discoveries. With a world-wide membership ACM is a leading resource for computing professionals and students working in the various fields of Information Technology, and for interpreting the impact of information technology on society.

ACM Bangalore Chapter

The ACM Bangalore CHapter was founded in 2006. This Chapter is organized to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To form a community of computer science/ Information Technology professionals and researchers based in Bangalore.
  2. Provide platform for interaction for the community by organizing invited lectures, seminars, workshops and informal meetings
  3. Enable sharing of information and resources for technical growth of the chapter members and computing industry at large.
  4. To cooperate with other professional groups in the presentation of programs of interest to the Chapter.
  5. Provide support for ACM conferences organized in Bangalore
